Your Moment // Week 3

Aug 17, 2025    Pastor Sam Tollett

In this sermon, Pastor Sam focuses on the life of Daniel and his unwavering commitment to his faith despite being in a hostile environment. Daniel was taken as a young slave to Babylon during the first wave of captivity from Judah. While many Jewish captives compromised their faith to adapt to Babylonian culture, Daniel made a pivotal decision to remain faithful to God's law by refusing to eat the king's food that would defile him according to Jewish dietary laws. This seemingly small act of faithfulness became the defining moment that shaped his entire life and legacy.

Daniel's uncompromising stance, even in small matters, led to God elevating him to positions of influence under multiple kings across two empires. His faithfulness allowed him to interpret dreams, prophesy about the coming Messiah, and influence pagan kings to acknowledge the power of God. The pastor challenges the congregation to examine areas in their own lives where they might be compromising their faith for comfort or convenience, emphasizing that small decisions of faithfulness can lead to significant spiritual impact.
